Art and Agriculture at the Concord Council on Aging

August 25 – October 27, 2017

Reception: September 8 from 5:00-7:00 pm

Off-site exhibition at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main Street, West Concord

In the fall of 2016, after a yearlong collaboration between the Concord Agriculture Committee and The Umbrella's Musketaquid Arts & Environment program, The Umbrella Gallery exhibited “Art & Agriculture: Four Seasons on Concord Farms.”  Eleven juried artists, working in a variety of mediums, were paired with 13 Concord Farms to create works based on what they saw and experienced—not just in the high season of summer, but through four successive seasons -- witnessing the farming and work cycles and getting to know the people who make a farm run.

From August 25 – October 27, 2017, five of the original artists, Lois Andersen, Robert Bicknell, Lonnie Harvey, Carrie Nixon, and James Zall, will be exhibiting their work at the Concord Council on Aging. We hope you’ll join us for a reception on Friday, September 8 from 5:00-7:00 pm to meet the artists and view their work.
